We all want to be able to make calls to anywhere, so telecommunications infrastructure has to be everywhere. And a lot of that infrastructure is off the grid.
We’ve developed storage systems and algorithms that can save more than 50 percent of the diesel used on remote telecommunications sites. These include sites in India, where more than 400,000 telecom towers are off grid and powered by diesel generators.

Commercial Energy Efficiency
Commercial energy customers need to balance time-of-use tariffs with start-up loads, demand charges, air-conditioning loads and in some cases utility-imposed restrictions on PV use.
The Deka UltraBattery excels in off-grid and fringe-of-grid locations, particularly helping diesel and PV to work together efficiently to deliver consistent power at the lowest possible cost.
High-power start-up loads mean that most gensets are oversized and run inefficiently except at peak-load moments.
Fluctuations that overwhelm a PV system can necessitate the worst combination: PV with constant diesel back-up. The high-powered Deka UltraBattery makes it all work – reliably, efficiently, and economically.
Generators that once operated near-continuously at low power, are now operating infrequently, and at their optimal output power. PV is comfortably running loads that fluctuate between a quarter and twice the panel size. Mining, Oil & Gas
The mining, oil and gas industries are full of projects with high energy needs, far from the nearest transmission line.
Such projects exist firmly in diesel territory, and this is unlikely to change any time soon – diesel generators are highly evolved and provide by far the most reliable remote power available. But why feed them more fuel than necessary?
The Deka UltraBattery has clear benefits for stationary defence applications. The technology is robust and its underlying lead-acid chemistry has been understood and valued by electrical system designers for many decades.
A goal for many homeowners today is to maximize their self-consumption of solar energy generated on their rooftop. But low feed-in tariffs and mismatches between solar peaks and usage peaks make this a difficult proposition.
